In the construction sector, and therefore in the hotel business, small errors can lead to big lapses in performance. These errors tend to only become visible at a late stage: through bad reviews, high repair costs or the unavoidable demolition of a building. These type of costly errors can be avoided by the use of certified products.
Manufacturers of soundproofing building products for the hotel industry can apply to the Quietroom foundation. The foundation will audit the products in question to see if they meet the acoustic requirements of the Quietroom® label. Certification is proof that these products contribute to the the Quietroom standards and thus give clients and customers in the hotel industry the guarantee that the products provide reliability, security, quality and durability.
In order to be certified, products must meet a number of requirements. These have been set down in the Quietroom Qualification Guidelines, which provides a detailed description of the qualification process and criteria. If your product(s) meet(s) the requirements, you will receive the requested Quietroom Product Certificate. In addition, this will be published on the Quietroom website, in order that interested parties can always find and download it. Of course all products should be used and installed according to the manufacturer’s guidelines, so it is imperative that these are studied carefully.
A Quietroom Product Certificate is generally valid for a period of one year, because the QR certification requirements and the corresponding certificates are regularly modified to adapt to new (market) developments, legislation and standards. This is why it is important to check the website to see whether a certificate is still valid.
Application for the certificate
If you would like your product(s) to be considered for the Quietroom Product Certificate, you can submit an application to the Quietroom foundation. On reception of your application we will send you an estimate with a plan of action for the pre-certification audit. During the audit we will investigate whether your product(s) meet the Quietroom standards. If you wish to demonstrate the quality of your product(s) by means of existing reports from research institutes or laboratories, you will need to prove that these have been issued by a recognised institution.
